Speed of stream = 12/2 = 6 kmph
Speed of boat = x
180/(x – 6) + 360/(x + 6) = 30
6x + 36 + 12x – 72 = (x – 6) * (x + 6)
18x – 36 = x2 – 36

Required time = 144/18 = 8 hours

Speed of upstream = 12 kmph
21/12 + 60/(x + y) = 3
60/(x + y) = 3 – 7/4
